Barron’s for Psychology is good. I just took the test and it’s short, tidy, comprehensive, and covered all of the material on the test except maybe one question.

any online resources?

I just took the test today, and I self-studied with Barron’s and PR. I mainly used Barron’s, because it gave good examples and was easier to follow, in addition to covering the necessary material. I used PR as a supplement, and together they covered everything on the test.

try as hard as you can to get a copy of American Pageant for APUSH.

I would definitely go with Barrons for a psych guide if you only want to get one to accompany the textbook. It is really great all around and gives the best info for the free response. If you decide to get another prep book I would go with 5 steps to a 5 because it has a glossary which is great since the test was (at least to me) mostly memorization.

For US history I would go with reading the AMSCO you have and then buying the REA book for its practice tests (I believe there are 6 and the explanations are really in-depth).

i hear barron’s + 5steps is a good combo.
i personally just used barron’s. read it 3 times and you’ll 5 it easily
[AP Psychology - Terminology](<a href=“AP Psychology - Terminology | PDF | Psychoanalysis | Psychology”>AP Psychology - Terminology | PDF | Psychoanalysis | Psychology)

USH takes some MAJOR time. It’s quite intimidating. You have to know the cause and effect of nearly every landmark event or era. apush would take 10x more time than psych, but if you can pull it off, it’s pretty impressive compared to others. When I self-studied this year, I had 200+ pages of teacher’s notes, done like 5 exams (no essay…heee), and knew nearly everything in amsco. USH is unique because, unlike many others, you have to analyze and synthesize.

Someday I’ll form the perfect study kit for apush with all the online resources you need but until then…finals.

actually…i have the 12 edition of tht book…just an edition lower thn the newest one…will tht be ok?

For APUSH I would definitely start over the summer, otherwise you’ll find yourself putting it off in favor of other schoolwork and digging a massive hole.

Edit: Is a textbook (like Myers) needed for AP Psych or could I just get by with Barron’s + 5 Steps?

barron’s is sufficient, on its own.

I took a full year study devoted to the AP US…I think i will actually read the texts that I have and books that I have and take notes and everything…like literally teach myself US History…will tht be ok?

That’s fine. If you aren’t starting from scratch, I think by next may you can be prepared. But be sure to understand the focus of the exam is on the consequence of facts, not facts themselves.

Oh one more thing- I had my doubts, but amsco is the BEST thing that has ever happened to apush. Supplement with your text book. Cold war is gonna be on there next year.

Read Barron’s the night before
Get a 5

Agreed. I think almost every APUSH class uses this textbook.

Nah, I used the one called “A Survey.”

We use A People and a Nation by Mary Beth Norton. It’s a really great textbook.
