I know the obvious answer is to take as many weighted classes as possible and do well in those, but I'm trying to compensate for a bad semester that probably dropped my ranking to #1000000000 lol. Does anybody know of any tips or secrets to get ahead of my peers? Does taking a course over the summer add as an "AP" weight usually? Do seniors usually take a lot of "regular placement" classes senior year such as regular art? I'm considering taking an AP art. Sorry I'm paranoid lol

BTW IM A JUNIOR RN

It depends, typically it’s better to take college courses over the summer since many schools weigh them the same as AP classes. You may want to talk to your GC, they will have a better idea of what you need to do to get ahead(though make sure you tread with caution).

I would suggest fixing your schedule to where you don’t have as many standard or unweighted courses.

Definitely dual enroll over the time off from school (summer) and that will boost you as well.

There are also AP virtual school courses you could take. If you decide to drop an unnecessary elective, you can take an online AP instead.

Be careful not to take more than you can handle…

This depends on how your school weights grades and you have to get above a 4.0, but if you take a study hall instead of an elective the study hall won’t bring your gpa down. At my school electives are not weighted. So if you have 3 honors classes with an A, weighted 4.25 and 1 elective with an A, weighted 4.0, then your gpa will be 4.185. If you only have the 3 honors classes and a study hall, then your gpa will be 4.25. I don’t really know if this is good in the long run, but it will raise your gpa

You could murder everyone in your grade. Then, you would be #1

But seriously, you could take online AP’s or dual enrollment, and take the right balance of classes. Of course, you need to make sure that you don’t overstress yourself. There’s no point in having a crazy schedule if you can’t keep up.

Best wishes!

Sabotage the competition?

But honestly, the only real way is to perform well in your classes. And depending on your school’s policy, take extra ones (Dual enrollment, summer, online, idk). My school does rank based on Unweighted Average of all grades (on 100 pt. scale).
