How to bring money to summer program for an international student

I will go to a summer program for 4 weeks. First, I don't know how much I should bring. I have to pay for laundry, books($100~300), some meals if I don't want to eat what they offer, some small trips, maybe have fun with friends.....
Second, I don't know how to bring my money. I can't carry like $500 with me all the time right? Should I have an account in an US bank? Or use credit card? By the way, I am under 18, so maybe there is something I can't do with the banks.

If anyone can answer that I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

I don’t think u should get an account in the us if it’s solely because of going there for a summer program. I guess credit cards would be quite a good choice
As for how much money, I think you can ask someone from the program and they might suggest you a certain amount
Hope it helps!

does your credit card allow you to use in US?
another thought: bring $1000 with you to US but only carry $200 in your wallet.

I think there are kind of credit cards which are worldwide.
My parents and I are worried about money because we don’t have any friend there. Thank you both a lot.
