How to calculate GPA for...?

<p>Hi everyone!</p>

<p>I've been looking around the "What are my Chances" section and I was wondering what people include in their weighted/unweighted GPAs. Is freshman year GPA included in the calculations?? cuz some people said they have 4.6ish GPA and for my school that is not even POSSIBLE if i include freshman yr D: so i got pretty confused...</p>

<p>Also...
does GPA calculations differ for every college? If so... please indicate if freshman yr is included for the following colleges :]</p>

<p>Most of the top schools including Ivies and Stanford only use the unweighted grades anyway because they know some schools use a 4 point or 5 point scale differently. The UC’s will only use sophomore and junior year grades with a max of 8 semesters of AP classes used for calculating GPA. The highest GPA possible for UC’s for those two years is 4.36.</p>
