How to calculate GPA?

Hey guys, I have a rather unusual GPA question.

every school has its own method of calculating GPAs, but I'm an intel. student from Germany, and things r a lot different over here. First of all, we have 13 grades, so freshmen grade=grade 10, at least for us... but the major difference is that we only use grades 12 and 13 to calculate r GPA, and since I'm applying early, I'll only have the grades from 12th grade. So since every school has its own way to calculate the GPA, is it ok for me to use r way??? I've talked to me GC and he said, thats the way he would do it... but GPAs based on only one grade is probably a strange idea for americans??

bump... bump... bump it up...

um... do they want me to give them a gpa based on their 4.0 system or on ours??? we use a 0 to 15 points system

thx man... the conversation is pretty accurate I think... so do I just calculate my gba based on the german grading system and then convert it??? like I have a 1.2 right now, which according to the table is an A, so I would have a 4.0?
