Hi all,
I’m getting confused on calculating UC GPA
I’m a sophomore, so here are my first semester grades.
Honors Precalculus B (weighted and 5-point class)
Honors Chemistry A- (weighted and 5 point class)
CP US History A
Honors English B
Spanish 3 B
Tennis A.
Likewise, with these grades, how do I calculate my GPA. I’m confused with how the Rogerhub one works.
Honors classes are out of five points while regular classes are out of four. If you get an A in an honors class, you get 5 points for it, and if you get an A in a regular class, you get 4 points for it etc. Also, only some honors classes are out of five points which I think you understand. In your case, your GPA comes out to 3.83 (4+5+4+3+3+4 = 23. Divide by number of classes to get GPA).
I don’t think the pluses or minuses matter
That is weighted GPA, I was wondering about UC GPA.
Also, I forgot a couple courses, so here is my full sophomore first semester loadout
Honors Precalculus B (weighted and 5-point class)
Honors Chemistry A- (weighted and 5 point class)
CP US History A
Honors English B
Spanish 3 B
Tennis A
Fundamentals of Art A
Fundamentals of Art A+
All of my classes meet the UC a-g reqs, except tennis, which is a sport.
It is really not helpful to calculate your UC GPA until end if Junior year and use the Roger hub calculator. Plug in the # of A’s, B’s, C’s etc…for your a-g classes only. Add # of semesters of UC approved Honors, AP/IB or DE courses with a maximum of 8 semesters and calculate. This is your weighted UC GPA.
