How do you include the Freshman grades to your GPA that you submit to Cal Poly?
Only A-G classes? Only Math? Etc? Thanks!

Use the CSU Mentor Calculator and just add your Freshman year grades from the a-g courses. Remember Honors/AP in Freshman year do not count for extra Honors points. Most schools will recalculate your GPA anyways.

And a max of only 8 semesters of bonus GPA… no matter how many you took.

Will they also want me to submit my grades from Algebra 1 during the 8th grade?

You will report the Algebra 1 grade on the application but it will not be considered in their calculation. Only 9-11th grades. However, if you have taken more the minimum Math classes you will get bonus points.

As @Gumbymom said, more math equals more bonus. In fact Poly sees math as so important that the maximum math bonus, 500 points, is 10% of the maximum admissions algorithm score, 5000. If you’re taking Calc AB or BC this year, you should get the max bonus.
