I recieved a 1 on my AP chem exam and need to cancel it so that colleges do not see it. How do i go about cancelling it, and if i do is it definite that colleges will not see it? When filling out apps and putting in other AP scores can i leave this out if i cancelled it?

You had to cancel by June 15th for it not to be reported this year. While you can still cancel it by sending them a letter, your school and any colleges you sent it to will know the grade. Also, some schools stick AP grades on transcripts and you won't be able to delete that grade if your school does this.

Call AP services and tell them you want to cancel the grade. Maybe you have to push a certain number for that option, I wouldn't know cuz I've never called their AP services number.
I have a quick question, did you attempt the questions or left the FRs blank or with random info that doesn't pertain to the question?
By the way soup, they will only know the grade if s/he does not cancel before the next AP score report is sent. But if s/he was sending the report this year, it's too late.

No, I attempted the questions, but our chemistry course was not really at an AP level. I have a 34 ACT so its not because of intelligence, simply its because we were through 7 zumdahl chpts at the end of the year.

i thought that you can send only the AP scores you want and colleges wont see the entire score report until after you are admitted. am i wrong?

i thought you had to cancel by june 15th or colleges this year would see it...
assuming you are going to be a senior...

If you're a senior, there's no need to cancel AP scores. Even if you aren't, canceling scores is not necessary. No college requires an official AP score report for the admissions process, so you can selectively report AP scores on your application. The only issue might be if your school includes AP scores on your transcript, but now that the June 15th deadline has passed, theres nothing you can do on the College Board end. You might try to ask your registrar's office if you can have them omit your AP scores.
