My son will be a freshman in the fall. The First Year of Studies Academic book said no changes could be made to schedules until Aug. 25. It said to not email your advisor asking to request a change. Should he email his advisor to set up a time to meet with him Aug. 25 or do students just wait in line? What is the procedure for a freshman?
Also, how hard is it to switch classes- specifically to a different section of chem10171 and beg. italian?

I would e-mail and request to meet with advisor if I were your student. I would not indicate that it is because of schedule changes however. Don't know how difficult the changes might be--it might depend on the advisor. Son's advisor was kind of difficult all the way around, so he just did not bother him too much. But, then again, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. Is your son looking to switch because of time scheduling or difficulty level of the courses? Good Luck!
