how to check applicaiton status

How do you check your application status?

You’ll get a letter in the mail, and an email, with a Login ID and PIN. My S got both the email and letter about a week after he submitted his application. Here’s the applicant web page:

[Undergraduate Admissions: Application Process - WPI](http://www.wpi.edu/admissions/undergraduate/apply/appl-process.html)

When you look at the status of all your application materials, keep in mind that there might be some blank areas that stay blank. For example, my S had a counselor rec and a science teacher rec, but not a math teacher rec, so that cell in the table stayed blank (no “received” date).

Oh - my S applied EA. It might take longer for RD since they’ll have more apps to process.

Okay I applied on December 30 and still haven’t got the mail. Is there anything to worry about?

The web page I linked to above says to allow 2-3 weeks to get the application acknowledgment. It doesn’t seem like an email should take that long, but maybe they don’t send the emails until they’ve mailed the letters. If it were me I’d try to wait until 1/17 before contacting them. But I know it’s hard to wait. Good luck to you!

WPI is a great school. However, they could do better on their mail system. My daughter is a freshman this year. She received several pieces of mail at home regarding their alcohol abuse prevention program AFTER she had already moved in. There were many other mailings before that that people were talking about on this board well before she received anything at home.

I should point out that we live in California, a ways away from WPI. However, normally the mail from the east coast (all being sent by air) is ususaly no more than a day later than that sent out locally, except WPI’s.

So, its “probably in the mail”.

Oh hey I got in. I hope scholarship information comes soon.
