i havnt recevied any sort of confirmation yet… anyone else? can we check online?

they are suppose to send you an email if anything is missing. call to be safe. but i find those people at admissions evil and mean.

Yeah, they will email you or send out a card stating what is missing or if your file is complete.
Have you noticed at this time of year, when calling the admissions office, that they can be in a rather harsh and foul mood?

Yeah, "We have over 19,000 applications!"

"But mam, I just want to hear about mine"

Ha Ha! Exactly.
I have talked to several institution's admission's departments and Brown's is an absolute "trainwreck"!!
I'm sure they are very nice people, but the "right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing" and vice versa.

the penn admissions people suck, even before the admissions process really gets started. they really need a better system.

i agree totally

They should really use Cornell's online system. It's way better than the one they have now. You can login and all, but you cant check on the completeness of your app.

It's good for them too, that way we won't have to call them every now and then.

I agree. And the Penn admissions people were so mean to me when I only had a simple question.

Brown's online app system is okay, but still disorganized on the phone.

Has anyone received the login and password needed to access your online decision (when it becomes available in April)? Other schools have sent me usernames/passwords/PINs etc but Penn hasn't sent me anything.

Furthermore, I called a few days ago and they said that still did not have my application and teacher reccs on file. Has this happened to anyone else?

Praguer...it is happening to me with Brown. They haven't found my application, transcripts from high school and college, or my three letters of recommendations.
I thought I would send in antoher packet of materials, but admissions officers tell me that if they come across multiple materials from the same person, they usually throw it off to the side.

MIT's system is also really great...it has an online tracking system which tells you what documents have been received and what are outstanding . It also shows your SAT scores on the tracking system so you will know when you send them updated scores and if they've reached them.

MIt is easily the best...

Hey, I think that the best application systems belong to the best engineering colleges, and flipside - the least efficient, most disorderly application systems belong to less engineering-inclined schools.

I agree, MIT is really good. The people on the phone are polite and friendly and their system is really fast. I sent out my MIT stuff last and they had it all sorted out before any other school.

University of Texas has something similar to MIT's. It has a page with 15 documents or show and showing which one's are received and which ones are outstanding. It also shows which scores and class rank they have on file for you. They get stuff updated pretty fast. They received my data sheet on Feb 1st and had it posted as received by the afternoon of the 2nd. This is by far the best system I've dealt with between the colleges I've applied to.
