My D applied EA and was deferred. As it's getting close to mid-February, I want to confirm that her interim grades for the 2nd trimester were received as well as know if a portfolio cd of her photography that she handed to the Visual Arts department at the Presidential Reception is noted in her file. When I called to follow up on the portfolio, I was just told that "I'm sure the professor gave it to operations to notate". I'm not very comfortable with that. Any ideas who to contact?

Fordham will be mailing notices around 2/15 to students who's records are incomplete. We cannot take calls about application materials before then.

We realize this is difficult for families but we're still working through a backload of mail that comes with an applicant pool of over 21,500 applications.

Fordham Admiss, I absolutely understand the "volume" that Fordham is dealing with. My concern is that my D's file will not show up as incomplete because the portfolio was optional. She personally handed it to a professor in November and it still hasn't shown up in her file. I did talk to an admissions counselor late yesterday afternoon who said that a note would be put on her file that she did submit a portfolio. Given the numbers that you are seeing, I was hoping that any additional information provided since she was deferred could be important during the review in the regular decision round, especially an interim report for her 2nd trimester grades which all improving.

Sorry, a little off subject but i just have a quick question for the rep. I was wondering if an interview is mandatory. I heard that somewhere. Is Fordham still doing that?

We no longer offer interviews as part of our admissions process

Thanks. I was really worried.
