When I start my UC application and choose UCSD from the list, it ask me to rank all the seven colleges in UCSD and doesn't ask me for the major. I am planning to major in economics in UCSD, but I can not find anywhere on website to show me which college has this major, it only says there is a economic dpartment. So what should do? Thanks a lot!

u can pretty much go into any major from any college at ucsd…each college has more to do with where u will live and wat the graduation requirements r…i dont think there’s much else to it…at least as far as i know

Your major doesnt matter when choosing colleges. Just liek lomkh said, it has to do with where you will live on campus, and upper division general education graduation requirements.

Muir, and Marshall have the least requirements. Sixth, and Warren seem to have a few more requirements. Roosevelt and Revelle have the most requirements, those 2 colleges dont consider you finished with lower division requirements just because you did IGETC.

All the other colleges do not require you take any extra lower division classes when you get there if you are IGETC certified. Roosevelt and Revelle do.

So basically, if you want to take the least amount of classes upon arrival to UCSD, dont pick Roosevelt or Revelle, pick Marshall, Muir, or even Warren.

Just to clarify, as a transfer your choice of college does not determine where you will live on campus. All of the college specific housing is for freshman entry students.
