How to compensate for a B

Despite many grueling hours of toil and concentration, I received a B+ in AP World History.

If I earn an A during the second semester, score a 5 on the AP exam, and receive 800 on the subject test--will this compensate for the B?

No. That B+ will forever mar your academic record and any hopes you had at HYSPM and any other colleges has gone out the window. You’re going to end up serving fries to people at McDonalds for the rest of your life, which is a perfectly respectable career choice. You’ve officially screwed yourself over by earning that one B+.

I’m obviously kidding. You can do no more than just do your best to improve your grades for the remainder of the year. One B+ will not cause catastrophic damage.

by your calculus elinane, only 4.0 students get into top colleges?

Is this your understanding?

^Isn’t that just common knowledge?

Word.

Just kidding  I’ve received many B’s before, but APWH was the first class where grades weren’t functions of effort. I worked my *** off for that class, so I want to conquer it, come second semester.

There were other classes where I didn’t earn an A, but APWH was the first class I had to struggle and fight (not literally, but close enough) to maintain consistent mastery of the course material.

Why is this a problem?

It’s not a problem in the sense that I screwed up, but it’s a challenege I’d like to overcome–and proudly say I conquered.

I love you.
