How to Contact Adcoms

What is the best way to update the Admissions office on my new activities/developments? Should I email the office, or send a good ol' letter? Do I have to put one of those annoying address stickers on the envelope? Thanks for the help!

i sent in a good ol letter. dont need those annyoing address stickers, just send in a regular letter.

Anyone else?

Send it in the mail, email could get missed, or not printed, that kind of thing, this way it is all ready to put in your file,,,,,jeesh, put on the silly label, I can't wait till you have to start paying bills and doing your taxes!!! ; )

Thanks for the response citygirlsmom. You made me laugh on one of my worst days ever (I'm being dramatic). Congratulations. :)

Also, is there any way to find out which Admissions Officer has which region? Is there a list of names somewhere?

call the admissions office and ask for your regional representative.

What kind of an update are you sending? I heard you should only send in extra/updated info if it's really relevant (like winning some big competition). Just curious.

When I emailed the office they said they don't read by region and therefore don't have regional officers.

wait, i'm confused.

do they want updates from early admits other than a midyear transcript?

So I reread the instructions for filling out the application, and now I don't think I will send an update. Stanford is so against supplemental material; I don't get it! I did make a mistake on my application though, so I will send a letter to explain what I meant.
I don't know where the early admits thing came in. I applied Regualr Decision.

oh, right.

i got really really confused there, sorry.

No problemo. :) Congratulations on getting into Stanford!

Yeah, Sara that's a wiser choice cuz Stanford really hates the extra stuff. I'm sure you could send them some form of an activities update or whatever but, like i said before, it should be really important for them to know.

how do you know for sure they hate extra stuff?

well they say it on the application. they specifically say that they dont want resumes or extra activity information, etc... so i'm guessing that a letter in which you just say that you've recently joined some no-name club isn't going to interest them. Now, if you've just won some big regional or national competition or something of that caliber, it would be worth reporting.
