Hi,

I was just wondering how the scale changes when converting from unweighted to weighted GPAs. Unweighted, an A is worth a 4.0; what would it be worth on a weighted scale in the appropriate class, etc.?

Thanks!

School do it differently. Some give an extra 1.0 for AP/IB, pre-AP/pre-IB, Honors and G&T. Some only give 0.5 extra points. Some give 0.25 extra. Some only give for AP/IB, not any "pre-"courses. Some include dual credit college classes. Some don’t.

There is no universal method. It completely depends on your school. Don’t try to compare your unweighted GPA to someone else’s weighted one.

Consolation is right. And this has been discussed endlessly before. Try the search tab up above. It works. ;)
