How to convey this information to the admissions office?

Hello

I am a New Zealand student applying to six Universities in the United States. I recently received notification that I was one of the top 3 scorers in our national Science Scholarship exams. I sent this information along with my Mid Year Grade Report to the Universities that I have applied to, but, they probably do not understand the significance of the award.

Should I somehow tell them what this award means? As it is, I may have even been the top scorer overall.

Would receiving such an award help me stand out from the other numerous amazing and talented candidates or would it just move me from the impossible applicant pile to the possible international applicant pile?

If it helps, I am applying to Cornell, Duke, M.I.T., Princeton, Stanford and UNC at Chapel Hill.

Any information would be appreciated.

Bumping this up. Please help!

You notified them of the award. If they don’t understand its significance, and if its significance matters in the admissions decision, they will research the award. Admissions offices have software that explains foreign educational information and admission professionals at the schools on your list will likely be aware of the significance of your award – so don’t worry.

Thank you.

You’re very welcome.
