<p>He chose ME, after considering Physics, Music, even Philosophy. He’s an ME because that’s what HE chose. He had no interest in CS and I had no interest in pushing him into something I knew he didn’t want to do.</p>

<p>That will not get the OP out from under the parent’s veto power, if the parent forces the student to show progress in the parent’s choice of major as a condition for continued funding, unless the OP gets a full ride merit scholarship.</p>
