how do I convince my parents to let me go to boarding school?
Idyllwild arts academy..
this is basically my DREAM school, and I still cant even find a way to tell my mom that I want to go!
I recently told her that I wanted to go to an art school, but then she started looking in to the one in our school district. problem is i dont like it that much. lots of drugs and blah, and I went there once and i just didnt like the enviroment. they also dont have very good academics and such.
now my moms finally considering me going to that school, but now how do I tell/convince her that I really want to go to Idyllwild?
its in california, about 2 hours away from alot of our family, and we're going down there for christmas. with christmas coming up close, I should really tell my mom...
how do I tell her I want to go to a boarding school??(then I need to convince her)
do you know how much financial aid the people there get on average?
sorry so many questions but im kinda starting to freak out.

Weeeell

My parents hated the idea of me going to boarding school- or, you know, applying xD

So basically what I did was tell them that it was my dream, and I wanted to succeed at life, and not become like my friends and I wanted to challenge myself, blah blah(no one here even WANTS to go to an Ivy. They just don't care. At all.) If you tell your mom that its something you really, really want and am sure that will help persuade her. And tell her that you love her and its not that you want to go away, you just want to do what's best for your future.

Hope that helps!

wow... sit down and have a talk to her about it! tell her that the school is really good, apply for info at the school, and show it to her. then perhaps drive up to the school and take a tour of the campus and check it out... the enviornment is really great, i'm sure she'll just fall in love with it! =)

hey good luck, Idyllwild arts academy's such a good school! my sister's set on going there in 3 years!!! hope that helped =)

do you have an admissions packet? if not, try getting one and showing it to your parents and they will realize how a great a school it is..

hmmm...well im the youngest and my siblings all applied before so that wasn't a problem for me lol...

good thing is that idyllwild's acceptance rate is pretty high and its a good arts school...my sister been there for a couple years :))

i think that the idea of boarding school is a lot different from what kind of requests parents usually get so the thought of something that would be more beneficial to you might open up your mother's mind. it's something that could change your life and that might be why your mother is hesitant, but if you express to her why you want to go and why it would be good for you, i'm pretty sure she'll say yes. i did it with my mom. she was really hesitant too.....

I’m from australia & boarding school isn’t verry common!! I would like to go to boading school too, but the closest school that i like to were i live is more than 8 hours away!!! if the school u want to go to is closer say you can come home for the weekends!!! Good luck convincing!!!
