Sup y’all,
So I have an appointment with my future guidance counselor coming up very soon, and the whole reason for this appointment is basically so I can convince the high school to let me take US History 1, a class typically offered to sophomores. By doing this, I’ll have space in my plan to take AP Economics in sophomore year in place of USH 1, to fulfill my financial literacy requirement, and prepare me for the APs I plan to take in junior and senior year.
At the meeting, I plan to show him my 4-Year Plan and to convince him that I can handle the 6 honors classes (including the USH 1) that I plan to take in freshman year. Here are all of the reasons that I’ve come up with so far:
-I’m in Tier 3 English, the gifted program at my school for English. This shows that I’m academically able, along with the fact that I’ve gotten all A’s so far in my middle school years. Also, the history class I assume will be mostly English based, (essays and stuff), so that may help?
-I have many responsibilities including being the school president, the editor of the yearbook, and an active member of the choir and orchestra. This shows that I can juggle many responsibilities along with taking the 2 high school classes that I’m concurrently taking: Honors Algebra 1 and Accelerated Geometry.
-I am one of the few students who were accepted into the high school’s Honors Pre-Engineering Program, PLTW (Project Lead the Way). This’ll be the first year that it’s running.
Essentially, I’m asking you guys what kind of things could I say or do to persuade them to make this exception. Thanks guys.
Here’s my 4-Year Plan so you guys can use it as a point of reference:
