How to deal with a DWI on a Transfer Application

<p>I was just wondering if anyone had good advice on how to deal with a DWI on a college transfer application. </p>

<p>This is what Common App asks</p>

<p>Have you ever been adjudicated guilty or convicted of a misdemeanor, felony, or other crime? Yes No
[Note that you are not required to answer “yes” to this question, or provide an explanation, if the criminal adjudication or conviction has been expunged, sealed,
annulled, pardoned, destroyed, erased, impounded, or otherwise ordered by a court to be kept confidential.]</p>

<p>Is the DWI a felony, misdemeanor or traffic offense? I dont claim to know much about DWIs, but I think the lowest level in many states is a traffic offense. I would not consider that a crime.</p>

<p>If you’re not required to tell them about it, then don’t. Most colleges that don’t use the common app don’t seem to ask about it.</p>
