How to deal with transferitis?

Well, it has been a long journey at the community college level, and well worth it because we've reached that point in which we are finally able to transfer to a four year university. However, as happy as I am to finally be able to transfer - I've been at a community college for 6 years now - I am finding it increasingly difficult to finish off strong in this home stretch period.

What are most of you guys out there doing to cope with the transferitis phenomena?

At least be sure that you pass all of your courses. If you don’t your admissions could be rescinded since colleges expect you to complete the credits you listed on your application.

just curious, but why did it take you 6 years to finish community college? and yeah make sure to pass your classes cuz your admissions could be rescinded.

^6 years is aallllllllllloooooootttt

3 years here. My school says I need a 2.0 to transfer for this spring semester.

I am right there with you, though! I am trying to turn myself around and work extremely hard this last month before classes are over. Three of my friends have been here longer than me. One since 2007 who is transferring to UCLA and 2 since 2007 and 2008 that are coming with me to Cal Poly Pomona. I started in Fall 2009.

It’s not easy. All I can do is try to focus on the last three weeks and get the best grades I can. I mentally checked out about three weeks before now! My brain is already on vacation. But, I keep telling myself that May 24th is the last official day of class and it’ll be done before I know it.

I think Strengthlikebear has over 60 units, more like 90. So he’s good on that.

Six years is a long time. I hope you’re able to go full-time once you’ve transferred. Because you’re looking at probably at least another two years, right? Anyway, congrats. I know if feels good to be this close!

I wasn’t referring to the number of credits, but rather completing what you said you’d do on your application.

IOW, it’s good to finish strong, but it’s most important to just finish ;)!
