How to decide which scores send?

Took the SAT again on 10/10. And on the College Board site it states the scores will available until 11/2 and be sent by 11/14, but results are not . Most of the schools we are looking at have an EA deadline of 11/15.

Do we wait to submit the apps with the 11/15 EA deadline until 11/2 (after the scores are available) and send those if better, or do we submit the applications now with the best scores available and then resubmit the October scores if necessary?

Our concern is if something happens and they don’t get there in time? Is there a grace period since it is out of our control?

The vast majority of schools give a grace period for that reason. Some do not (UMich if I recall correctly).

Whether there is a grace period depends on college. Many allow scores to arrive after the app deadline. Some require them to be in the college’s hands by the deadline but even some of those colleges may allow you to submit new scores after the deadlne as additonal supplemental material if you already have a completed application, including test scores, on file by the deadline. To determine what you need to do you need to first find out what your particular colleges allow,

Nevertheless, my guess would be that the safest course would be to send whatever test scores you have now (they can be sent before you apply). Then if new scores are ones you want to order sent do so on Nov 2, and then file application at that time or right after, e.g., if you are using common app, you can include the new scores in the app itself while tjey are in transit.

Thank you both for the response!
