Hello everyone! I am currently having a problem deciding on what route to take when it comes to college. I have received an appointment to West Point and have been accepted to a great civilian school as well, but now I have only a few more days left to make my decision. I seem to be unable to make this decision because it really will shape the rest of my life. Is there anyone that has gone through this situation that has any tips or things to think about? West Point has been my dream for some time now, but my goal is to be an army doctor and that means I would owe the army quite a bit of time if I attend the academy. Thank you in advance to anyone that has any advice!
West Point is a fantastic option if you want to serve in the Army. Only you can make that choice.
Since you want to become an army doctor, West Point is a great place to start.
There was another thread where they said only 2 or 3% of each graduating class at w. Point gets to go to med school…and those are really top students. given how sharp the students are there, that’s a really tough thing to be in the top few %.

is that 2-3% of those who apply? or 2-3% of the total class. If the latter, difficulty will depend on the % who want to go to med school
My brother was a career Air Force officer. He’s alway said that anyone who wasn’t absolutely sure about joining the military shouldn’t do it. If you attend the other college and med school, you could enlist later if you decide that’s what you want to do, right? If you’re on the fence now, I’d attend the civilian school.
