I apologize if this is covered elsewhere I looked but couldn't find an answer.
My daughter goes to a large public high school in a large city and has basically received no college counseling so this may seem like something we should obviously know but we just don't.
My daughter has made her final decision as to the university she will attend in the fall. She has been blessed to receive several offers. Some schools sent an acceptance folder and in the folder is a response form to fill out and return. It includes a place for acceptance and a place to decline their offer w/ the name of the school you will be attending . Other schools don't have such response forms. Do we email the admissions office of those schools and tell she isn't going to be attending or if she doesn't send in a positive response w/ a deposit they will know she won't be attending? She applied using the Common Ap and we thought there might be a response via the Common Ap but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance for you advice.

It’s polite to email the admissions office as soon as you know you won’t attend so the school can factor the decision into their plans. A simple “Thank you for your offer, but I have decided to enroll elsewhere” will do.

Thank you
