Even though its only the beginning of sophomore year, the workload jumped from freshman year A LOT. Taking mostly honors classes plus AP World History (read, take notes every night). I feel like its not as hard as i make it out to be if i can just develop time management skills, which will save me lots of unnecessary stress and staying up late nights. Really didnt have to worry about time management bc everything before 10th grade was easy. Yea ik get a planner, don’t procrastinate (easier said that done) etc. but does anyone else have other advice? How do you manage your time?
My situation is pretty similar, and my suggestion is: try to plan out your night by time and/or have a to-do list.
The best way to prevent procrastination (at least for me) is to allow myself a reward if I finish something. For example: If I finish with this worksheet, I will get an M&M or a gummy bear or something.
During school, I write down my homework on a sticky note. When I get home, I split the work into 20-minute chunks, with 5 minutes between them. It usually works pretty well, if I’m focused enough to start and don’t get majorly distracted.
Timing myself works pretty well.
I always used to-do lists; It gives me a bit of satisfaction to check stuff off.
Additionally, I always use my weekends to get ahead of my work, such as textbook readings or my english reading. It saves time in the week.
