How do I drop a PE course? It is now past the deadline for it not appearing from your transcript, so if I drop it, I will get a W on my transcript. But when I go on Student Center to try and drop it, I am unable to select the box beside the course name.

I had to drop a PE course, so I emailed the PE director, Fred DeBruyn, and he told me to schedule an appointment to meet with him.

his email is fwd1

Why on Earth would you drop a PE course? There’s no work involved… Just show up…

PE classes are harder to drop than real classes usually. For some, after a certain date, you aren’t allowed to drop them.

Yeah, why would you drop PE? Unless the class you’re taking is so miserable that you can’t stand it…

Shoulda picked something fun… Like bowling.

Biggest **** around class ever.

I want to drop it because I’d rather have a nap in the middle of my schedule than a PE class. What if I just stopped showing up? The instructor said that I would fail the course if I had more than 4 absences. Is there a difference between a fail and withdrawl?

i tried to drop because i was signed up for 2.

ahhh…Fred’s director of PE? he and his twin were in my dorm…

if you really want nap time, take relaxation & stress management next semester haha. everyone falls asleep lying on yoga mats and “de-stressing.”

Neither an F or W will look very good, especially for a S/U PE class.
Aren’t you premed?

I don’t see how a W on a freshmen PE course could possibly not look very good.

It’s not a huge deal, but honestly not completing a course simply because you’d rather take a nap doesn’t really speak to your ability to finish something.

I mean if you have a conflict or issue or something, then yeah, but just because you want to take a nap isn’t really a good reason to drop the class…

Agree with ZFanatic…it’s not the end of the world, but not being able to complete a simple PE class doesn’t leave the best impression, especially because it had nothing to do with scheduling conflicts/other unavoidable circumstances. Just stick with it for this semester and give yourself some naptime in the spring, lol.

It really doesn’t matter if you have a U for PE. I wouldn’t worry about it.

"Just stick with it for this semester and give yourself some naptime in the spring, lol. "

Yep. Just get it over now. The semester’s almost half over… Just use those 4 absences up when you need them, and finish it.

If you don’t do it now, you’ll just have to do it again later, and then you wasted that effort for the first half of the semester, and you won’t get naptime then.
