How to enter similar activities

<p>I participate in pep, marching, and two different orchestral bands. All are run by my schools save for one orchestral band, and my leadership positions are the same for the school bands. But here's my problem:</p>

<p>-I've done pep band since 8th grade
-My school didn't have a marching band in 11th grade
-Pep and marching band can equate to about 20 hours a week.
-School Orchestral is about 3 hours a week, tops.
-Other orchestral band is 3 hours per week, also. </p>

<p>The common app doesn't really give me a place to specify all of this, and if I wrote down each different type of band as separate activities, I'd essentially have 4 Music: Instrumental activities, which I feel is pretty ambiguous. What should I do? Am I supposed to specify in the "Details, honors, accomplishments" box?</p>

<p>List them separately, but in the Position/Leadership section, also write which ensemble you’re talking about. If you don’t want to use up four spaces, maybe you can combine the ones that you participated in for the same years, add up their hours, and under Details list the different ensembles.</p>
