So, finally, my teachers have e-mailed me a copy of the letters of recommendation that they submitted on the common app. They seem good to me, but I really don't know how to evalutate them or what colleges will think.
So what constitutes a good letter of recommendation?

A good recommendation is one that encapsulates you and your positive qualities in a clear and understandable manner. If a random stranger reads this letter, they should be left with a positive feeling and also get a rough understanding of your strengths and performance.

One thing that can make a reco bad is too much brevity. It should not say ‘xyz is very talented and dedicated’ without explaining the basis for that statement and details on what you are talented at and possibly and example of your dedication.
