Hi all, I am a freshman at a high-ranking high school that sends many to Ivy League schools, so you can imagine that there is a lot of competition and hard-working students. Basically, I want to sort out my priorities in extracurricular activities for the next four years and am seeking a little help from people with more experience and knowledge.

Could you offer any advice on how to extend upon what my activities or where to start? These are my priorities listed from highest to lowest.

Science research- I participate in my school's STEM meetings and have some ideas for what I want to do. Competitions include Google Science Fair, Intel, statewide fair, etc... I plan on internships at university labs (when I'm old enough) and research firms, summer research programs, etc... <---- I insist in science research because I really like how research works

Art- I have been taking classes for classical painting/drawing for several years. This is the field that I'm really good in. Volunteer opportunities? Exhibition? Competitions include Scholastic, etc...

Writing- I have won awards for short-story and fiction writing before. Publish editorials for local newspaper? Internships? Competitions? Columnist opportunities?

Music- I am in the school's band and plan on trying out for all-state and county band next year (not this year). Competitions?

I am in several other clubs (DECA, Pre-med, Computer Science, Science Bowl, etc...) , but I'm merely trying them out since I'm in 9th grade.

Any advice or thoughts that come to mind, please share! Obviously, I will not reach all of my goals.
