How to file the CSS without 2014 taxes

<p>I'm a Questbridge finalist and I have to fill out the CSS form by November 1st, or preferably a few days beforehand. My only concern is that I only have the taxes from 2013 available and my parents have not filed for 2014 yet, and I'm afraid we won't be able to do so in a punctual manner. Do I just skip the section and leave it blank or will I have to file it ASAP?</p>

<p>You estimate to your best ability the answers to the 2014 questions. If family income doesn’t vary much year to year, the 2013 numbers can be a starting point to estimate the 2014 numbers. If your parents work for companies, i.e. not self-employed or own their own business, the most recent paystubs can be checked and extrapolated for the whole year of 2014. That’s what all students having to fill out profile before 2014 taxes are filed have to do, whether it’s for early admission at schools or programs like Questbridge.</p>
