How to find schools that will give me merit aid?

I have a 34 on my act with a 3.98 unweighted and a 4.35 weighted gpa. I am trying to find schools that will give me a lot of money, such as full tuition. So far the only school I can find is Alabama. Is there a search program that I can put my stats into and show which schools will give me money or is there like a list or something?

Look at the sticky thread in this subforum.

The sticky threads are really confusing today. Have they somehow been linked internally to each other? This is the one you probably want: <a href=“Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>Links to Popular Threads on Scholarships and Lower-Cost Colleges - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums;

here is a start: <a href=“Colleges and Universities That Award Merit Aid - Graphic - NYTimes.com”>Colleges and Universities That Award Merit Aid - Graphic - NYTimes.com;

Are you going to apply to Alabama? What is your major?

I think Alabama and Temple are the highest ranked univs that give assured full tuition scholarships for an ACT 32+ and a high GPA.

There are a number of lower ranking schools that will give you large merit scholarships.

How much merit do you need? For instance, if you and your family can contribute $15k per year, then you would need a full tuition award so that the $15k can pay for room, board, books, fees, etc.

Those are great stats. There are quite a few smaller Catholic colleges where you’d be in the running for one of their competitive full tuition scholarships.

I think @mom2collegekids‌ is right though about the guaranteed schools. It’s nice that they’re so different in vibe. I think most kids could happily find a home at one or the other, though neither one may be their dream school. Although my D is Philly born and bred, she wouldn’t even consider Temple, but Bama looks just fine to her.

I would think with at least one of those schools in your back pocket, you’d be able to shoot for some full tuitions at other schools.

What’s your probable major? Is there a specific area of the country you’d like to focus on?

This seems to be a fairly comprehensive list:
