I am currently in a out-of-state university and will be enrolled in a community college in california after this semester. I had bad gpa, only 2.88, and may retake some courses. I am wondering if UC only see the grade after retaking or see overall gpa? Thank you guys

UCs will see both the “bad grade” and your retake grade on your transcript, but only your retake will count towards your GPA. However, “Bad grades” that are retakeable are defined as D/F, so if you got Cs you’re out of luck.

I got a C in my chemistry…Do a C really hurt my chance to UC?

@Lister1234 Depends on what UC and what major you’re in. Usually it won’t be too bad with like 1 or 2. The less Cs the better though.

“how to fix bad gap”

Get better grades

^amazing how it works, idnit.

Most colleges have something called the Academic Renewal. For my CC, the policy is that after 2 years, you can erase up to 21 units on your transcript that is D/F. I boosted my GPA from 2.8 to 3.6 just by erasing my first year. (I failed my first year of CC hard)
