I am interested in shadowing/interning under a cardiologist at my local university (that is in the Top 50 colleges) in hopes of learning about the medical field/cardiology and potentially engaging in research.
I have some experience and exposure to medicine that I know I can mention; including volunteering in a pathology lab at a local children’s hospital every Monday (therefore, I am in compliance with HIPAA, which I know I have to mention). I’ve been able to handle and analyze ex-vivo organs, gain an understanding medical paperwork, and work directly with medical staff.
I’m also an “All-Star” for a non-profit, meaning I promote social media campaigns for the organization’s cause (which was co-founded by the American Heart Association and is based in NYC). I have also been able to shadow a surgeon during operation(s), the longest of which was six hours. Of course, I’d also have to mention my interests and GPA, etc.
How would I format an email that isn’t too intrusive and presents me in an impressive light?
