heyyy, i am a junior and i have been taking latin since 6th grade. this is my first year of AP and i really want to get a 5. i know the ap latin exam is one of the hardest, but i just wanted to know if any of you have gotten a 5? if so, how did you do it? i'm on spring break right now and i am willing to do almost anything to get a 5, so any of your tips would be greatly appreciated. thank you soo much! : )

I didn’t take the exam because I was too scared. Most people I know, even people who are brilliant in Latin, got a 2 or 3. Probably the only think I can tell you is make sure you know the text and are ready to do the translation. That stuff needs to be word for word because it is graded in chunks. One word in a certain chunk wrong, you don’t get credit for that entire chunk. (they are like a line or so each I think…if you don’t get credit on a couple of them, not the end of the world). Learn to love the Aeneid. Eat sleep breath the Aeneid. Since I haven’t taken the exam, I can’t give you much more than that. I wish you luck though. I’m taking 4 APs this year, 2 of which are the AP Physic C exams (another one of the hardest AP Exams if not the hardest) so I understand the feeling. What is most important, though, is to not stress yourself out because you want a 5 so badly. Relaxation and confidence is the key to any AP exam.

thank you soo much! good luck with your ap’s! :)
