<p>I found out yesterday that I was considered medically disqualified because of the visual acuity in my left eye was not correctable to 20/20. Is there any way that I could retake the test or get a waiver? Will I have to do anything else in order for a waiver to be granted?</p>
<p>If you are competitive for an appointment, the USCGA will automatically consider you for a waiver, you don’t need to do anything to initiate it.</p>

<p>As mentioned, a waiver is automatically considered. A common misunderstanding is about paying for exams. Any cost for re-testing for a WAIVER will be handled by the government. At the moment you are Disqualified. If you choose to produce exams or seek medical information and counsel that counters that status, the cost for those exams /labs/etc will be paid by you.
Mr Mullen (reference above) is actually AT DoDMERB, so whatever he sends you will be from the source.
