Because of COVID and other reasons, it isn’t always possible to visit colleges in person. What advice do you have for getting a good feel for colleges without visiting them in person?
Perhaps try to organize your criteria to determine what it is you want to find out about a college that would require visiting, versus criteria that you can find the answers to without a visit.
Some of these colleges have Facebook pages of current students. You can ask them for information.
You can look for online videos, not just the marketing sort but things put up by kids, sometimes including flashmobs or events.
The ones done by students are usually pretty fun and informative. Son didn’t end up applying, but we really enjoyed a series of videos from a U. of Oregon student.
I recommend dorm tour videos by guys. They tend to be more practical. The gals’ videos are like a shopping tour. Yes, it’s a totes cute pillow, but I don’t care that you got it from TJ Maxx.
Also, some schools let students take over their instagram feed for a day. Those are interesting day-in-a-life items.
