I didn't attend the job fair because I had a 10+ hour flight the day before and my sleeping schedule was completely flipped upside down...

I ended up sleeping for 14 hours.

Anyways because i couldn't attend the job fair I'm mostly oblivious to the job opportunities around the campus. I have work study which i'm want to use.

I want to work in a library pretty much.... Do i just go over there and give them my resume or what?

Where are job opportunities available in the first place??

I didn't think about getting a job until the end of first semester freshman year. I never went to the job fair, but I checked out [Monstertrak[/url] and found a job I wanted. I'm not sure how many employers on campus know about Monstertrak, but it seems like a helpful tool for job searching.

you can also contact the career development center, I guess.

if you already know where you want to work then I would think contacting them and asking if they are hiring would be a good step. worst case, they say they have no openings.

as you get subscribed to various email mailing lists on campus people post lots of job openings to those, but those are typically "targeted" jobs which require some particular skill.

Also don't forget to look on the bulliten boards and kiosks around campus. Sometimes jobs at a certain school will get posted on the boards around that school before they're put online or anywhere else.

thanx guys XD I posted a resume for library jobs.. i really want to work at eastern asian library (or whatever its called) because it's small...and I can speak an asian language... crosses fingers

i worked at both Doheny and Leavey…Doheny is for the Grads and much better atmosphere and amazing inside, Leavey is 24 and is best on campus for Undergrads…never checked out Asian Library but that VKC and the Philosophy library are more study specific

i’d suggest you Walk-In and do a Follow-Up to submitted App. & bring your Resume with you ASAP

VKC isn't as nice inside, but the Philosophy library is small and very nice inside (although a bit older-looking, it's a classic old and not worn-out old).
