In the fall I will be a junior in high school and really want to go to CSUF. My average for sophomore year for the whole year was 94. I don't think my grades are a problem to get accepted and I am going to take the SAT later this year, hopefully the first date possible. I already have 3 books on the SAT so I am ready for it. The one problem I have is that I am out-of-state. What are my chances with not living in California? I really want to go to an out-of-state school and my parents are ok with it. Also I know that you need a credit in theater related classes but I don't believe my school has any. I will have all other required credits, 3 years of spanish, 6 years of math, 4 years of english, and 3 years of science with 2 being labs. Hopefully by the time I graduate I will have a college credit in Statistics and Calculus. I want to major in Information Technology and am thinking about minoring in Criminal Justice. So do you think I have a good chance of getting in?

I don’t know if you are talking about Fresno or Fullerton, but both of those campuses are impacted, so they have more stringent standards for admission. With a 94 GPA, as long as you get test scores that correspond to your high GPA, it seems that you should be in good shape for admission.

As for the Visual or Performing Arts requirement, theatre is not the only option. You could take band, orchestra, choir, dance, or a visual art (painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, etc). If you don’t know which courses at your HS would satisfy the requirement, contact the admissions office at CSU for help.

Oh, I’m sorry, I am talking about California State University Fullerton. In 8th grade I took 2 high school courses and got 78 in Biology and 81 in Algebra. I don’t believe those were bad as most people have an extra year until they have to take them. I received an 83 in Geometry Exam in 9th grade. In June, when I was a sophomore, I took Global History 2 and Algebra2/Trig Exams and got an 89 in Global and 91 in Algebra 2. My school does have photography classes which I will take then in order to meet the requirements. Thanks.

Please double check with the admissions office at CSUF about the photography class. It’s best to get important questions answered by an expert!

I will make sure, thanks
