<p>I'm only a high school sophomore but recently I have been thinking about my future and Penn state is my dream school. I did some research and think the smeal college of business is what I'm interested in. Hopefully I will graduate with 6 AP credits. Currently my GPA is a 3.9 although I only had a 3.5 my freshman year. I understand it's still early but I just want to know how to improve my chances of future acceptance. Any help would be appreciated!</p>
<p>Well, a 3.9 gpa is a great start. A 3.5 gpa wont be held against you if it was your freshmen year. I’d keep my gpa at least a 3.7+ by the time you reach your senior year with a decent amount of coursework and AP classes, bring the SATs up to 1900+ (2000+ to be on the safer side) or ACT up to 28+ (30 to be on the safer side). Work on some decent extracurriculars and I think you will have a good shot. I have a friend who got into Smeal with lower stats than I posted above. The admissions at PSU is really random so you have a good chance even though your grades might not be perfect. Just make sure you apply early.</p>
