How to Get Accepted to Yale?

Hi! I’m a sophomore in high school and I really want to go to Yale. I know some people who have gotten in but even while discussing how they got in it seems to be a daunting task for everyone. For those of you privileged enough to be accepted could you post some of the things you did/were in while attending your high school? Thank you!!!

Here are some questions to focus.
1.) GPA
2.) ACT/SAT
3.) Extracurricular Activities
4.) Teacher Relations
5.) Passion
6.) Gender and Ethnicity
7.) Leadership Positions

You can answer as many questions as you or as few questions as you want. Again this is help prospective students size themselves up.

Go to old results thread from previous years where accepted/denied students all post their stats and ECs and things to get somewhat of a perspective on what Yale is looking for. That said, there isn’t a specific way or formula to get accepted. It’s a combination of many factors that are often unique to each applicant

Wilguen I’m new to the sight. Could you please direct me to the posts by pasting the link. Thank you!!!

Apply sideways! Although this blog is about MIT, everything in it applies to Yale as well: http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/applying_sideways

@Degrassi7 https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=yale+rd+results+college+confidential+site:talk.collegeconfidential.com any of these

Look at the pinned first thread on the Yale Forum. It is the SCEA Decision thread. It is full of info on applicants that got in early. Trust me, the regular admits will look very similar. Remember there is no formula for getting into Yale or any other school that uses holistic admissions and admits less than 10% of applicants. My advice is to do your best in high school, be authentic, take classes and ECs that interest you and where you will shine and take leadership roles, and BTW, enjoy a few things like prom, class trips, etc.
