u should not be what ur user name suggests!! u have to be studious!!

u shoudl have a high GPA/percentage, must be in top 1% or max top 5% of your univ rank

very good gre and toefl score

great acads again!!

good research background…maybe a few IEEE papers

a lil bit of luck!

ALL the Best

In one word you should “rock” to get in MIT

^ What useless advice.

This is the online application form for electrical and computer engineering: Login

You may only attend MIT grad school after obtaining your bachelor’s degree, however you can apply in your final year if your degree will be awarded before the MIT session starts.

Let me quote the admission website directly:
“Applicants are evaluated by the individual departments in which they intend to register on the basis of their prior performance and professional promise, as evidenced by their academic records, letters of evaluation from individuals familiar with their capabilities, and any other pertinent data they submit. While high academic achievement does not guarantee admission, MIT expects such achievement or other persuasive evidence of professional promise.”

You will also need to give the TOEFL or IELTS (minimum score: 7). You do NOT need to give the GRE for your course.

So basically concentrate on your marks, get good letters of recommendation, and do something that will help you stand out from the crowd (research or whatever).

EDIT: Just realised this thread is a month old. And yet it was on the first page of the forums. Sorry.

One advice. You may not have to be studious, but rather what you learn practically. After all, Engineering is not books. :stuck_out_tongue:
Ah, and what engineer you become, if u have not explored the real deals around you. :)

you need GRE. it’s written in brochure

does it matter which college you attended for undergraduation to get admission in MIT?

yes 10char

quiver
does it means that one has better chance of getting admission in ms if he undergraduates from an us university ?

obviously… Its easier to evaluate you and its more evident that you will be up to their standards as for breadth/humanities courses… Also they don’t consider you an international anymore …ie when it comes to application…

Is it worth the price you pay?

^ I assume you’re asking whether MIT is worth the price tag, right? Well, duh! Plus it has financial aid for internationals (need-blind at undergraduation level, dunno about grad school).

No not the MIT!
What i mean is that the advantages you get by undergraduating from us worth the price?

Well yes.

  1. Good quality education ( the only thing in India )
  2. Research/Internship opportunities.
3)Awesome dorms, food quality that will keep you going on
4)Exposure meeting new people who may add to your life.
    5)Global awareness…( I can’t define this :p)
  3. The edge (maybe) in terms of grad school placements.

But isn’t it true that international students are facing difficulty in finding jobs after graduation ?

evidence,link???

Well how does one stand out of the crowd
