I've completed the BB and still can't seem to score past 700 in math. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately you might have to settle.

Did you went over every question to figure out what you did right/wrong? I suggest you do that, it definitely helps a lot :)

You can also buy workbooks, and write down your stenghts and weaknesses so you will remember them

^yeah
basically my REAL sat math score was the same that i got in the BB practice tests
i got 740 with 3 wrong

The thing about Math is that EVERYTHING can be checked with your calculator. On my PSAT I got a 77 (skipped one, missed zero) and on my first SAT I got an 800.
I always go back and plug in numbers and eliminate every single answer choice that does not work, even when I don’t know what exactly to do. For example…

If x^2 + y^2 = 2xy, then x must equal
a. -1
b. 0
c. 1
d. -y
e. y

You can eliminate B off the bat because it would always equal zero.
Then I start at A: -1. -1^2 = 1, then let’s just set y equal to 3. So 1 + 9 (3^2) = 2 * 1 * 3 = WRONG
C: 1. 1^2 = 1, so the same thing as A
D. -y. So X would be -3, 9 (-3^2) + 9 (3^2) = 2 * -3 * 3 = WRONG, one side is positive one is negative
E. y. X would be 3, 9+9 = 2 * 3 * 3 = 18, correct

I had no idea what to do yet I still managed to get an answer just by plugging in numbers.

740 was three wrong? I must have missed 4 then… grrr…

It’s probably 740 is 3 wrong if at least one is a grid in question (so you still only lose 3 raw score). 720 is probably 3 wrong if all three are MC.

Get Gruber’s. Master the concepts. If you find yourself making lots of silly mistakes, take a look at Rocket Review as well. Then order yourself some old PSATs (similar problem sets, though easier) and, if you can afford it, sign up for the College Board online tutorial to get yourself the six extra tests. You need some more practice.

Put all the problems you miss on flash cards and review them until you don’t miss them, ever.
