Hi,
I am in AP US History this year. Right now, there are 300 points in the grade book (200 for summer assignment and 100 for a project). I have 300/300 points right now. (yay for me!) Anyway, I have a test tomorrow and monday that is over 13 chapters. It is worth 150 points. If I got 90/150 (the average scores last few years were usually Ds to Fs, he designs it for us to fail), I would have a B in the class. How would I go about bringing it up to an A. I am willing to work hard, but I just need some tips and strategies to help.
Thank you in advance

Don’t read the book it’s a waste of time. Use course-notes (an online notes website) and study the vocabulary. Get 100s on all the project. Write good essays. You should be fine.

I agree with Tayrae1026, the book is a waste of time. Get the Princeton Review, it is really helpful at summarizing the main/important points. Also go to college board and review previous AP tests. Also try quizlet.com and search for AP US flashcards.

buy AMSCO-best book for apush or buy direct hits -pretty good as well

The American Pageant is the bane of my existence. Luckily, our teacher only requires that we fill out his “outlines” which means just answering 10-15 questions about the chapter. I use online notes to answer the questions and then we review the chapter as a whole in class. For the tests I just read over the section of the princeton review that we are being tested on and go over my in class notes and online notes. So far I have a 92 so I’m happy.

Course notes is great. But that seems like a horrible way to grade, only 3 grades?!

Anyhow- your in class grade won’t always reflect your exam grade. I got an 84 cumulative for the year, but a 5 on the exam. Good luck!
