How to get an interview

Hey everyone, the colleges to which I've decided to apply are below; I'm interested in how to go about scheduling an interview, but for most of these schools the info posted on the webpages is either very limited or very confusing. The one school I was able to schedule an interview with was yale. Aside from this, do these schools only allow you to interview AFTER you apply? What's the deal?! Thanks!

Carnegie Mellon
William and Mary
Duke
Harvard
Georgetown
UVA
Vanderbilt
UPenn
UChicago
Princeton
Yale
Amherst

Of these schools I've only interviewed with UChicago. I had it after I registered to apply, but before I sent in the actual application. I was able to schedule an interview with UChicago through the UChicago website.

For Georgetown, if you submitted the first part of the app during the summer, you will recieve your interview assignment in September.

For UChicago, I believe you can request an interview starting sometime this fall.

EDIT: Here's the link for Uchicago : https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/visiting/#interviews

and Gtown: Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions

You know that you don't have to do the on-campus Yale interview, right? It's well possible that you'll be contacted by a local alum who will offer you an interview. I just don't want you to travel up to New Haven ONLY for the interview -- it's not necessary by any means.

Thanks for the Gtown and Chicago info! (And yes, I know that the on-campus interview isn't required for Yale...i just thought I might as well since i'll be in the area anyway)

Anyone else have info for the other schools???

Look it up on the college websites.

Example: Alumni Interviews

Nearly all of my interviews occurred after I applied, in January or February.

Most of them were offered to me (the alumni contact you), but I had to request them for some schools (including UChicago).
