What book do you recommend to study out of? I've mostly heard the Barrons 2400 book and PR but if I had to choose one or the other then which one should I pick? And also in SAT class I'm averaging 600ish in critical reading. Does anyone have any advice on how to pick that up to a 700? And also it's my goal to get an 800 on math and writing, or at least 750 on each. Does anyone have any advice on how to avoid getting even a few questions wrong on the math portion and get an 11 or 12 on the essay portion? My SAT's are coming soon and I'm really desperate for advice. So help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Princeton Review Cracking the SAT 2012 edition has some really helpful advice and strategies!

Honestly, find a way to get the QAS tests.

Don’t do any stupid books. They won’t help you. It’s the practice tests that will help you.

i guess just take a SAT prep course, which is what i am doing currently, its pretty helpful, i got a 250 point bost on 3 wks.

I like the blue book… For CR i would recommend looking up noitaraperp’s method… That boosted my score within like two practice tests.

If you can’t get a hold of the QAS tests, go ahead and pay the $69 to the college board for their on-line course. 9 more tests are there. Practice, practice and practice. Also, read the NY Times opinion pages/editorials every day. Underline the words that you don’t know and look them up when you finish the article. That is the best practice for the reading section that you can get.

BTW, I’m a Penn grad and have my own SAT/ACT tutoring business.

I used Kaplan’s SAT 2400. Scored 800 CR, 740 M, 750 W. All of the regular books are geared towards an audience in the 1600-2000 range whereas SAT 2400 is for high scorers.
