how to get financial aid reevaluated

i got an incredible financial aid package from wellesley, but i really want to go to barnard. i haven't gotten my financial aid offer from barnard yet, but it's almost definitely not going to be as good as wellesley's. back when i was doing the NPC calculators, barnard's projected EFC was more than scripps's, and scripps's (which almost matched what the calculator gave me) actual aid isn't as good as wellesley's. i'm just anticipating it not being as affordable. i asked barnard if financial aid could be reevaluated (through their formspring) and they said yes, but i can't just show them another school's offer.

wellesley's aid would be good to show them, right? but what else could i tell them other than that it's just not very doable? what do people usually say in situations like this?

this may be a little premature, but i just want to know what i need to do in case i have to ask because i'm dying to send an enrollment deposit.

When are you supposed to get the financial aid package from Barnard?

in a few days probably. my tax stuff was sent rather late, so i didn’t get it with the acceptance. i just got wellesley’s online yesterday

If it is just a few days, I would suggest you wait until you get the numbers. Then you can decide what to do.

i know, but it’s highly likely i’m gonna have to so just in case i wanted to know what people usually do in this situation

I would love to know this, too. Are we just supposed to outright ask for more money?
