I’m a senior & I currently have a 30 on my act
English: 36
Reading: 33
Math: 27
Science: 25
So I mostly need to get my math & definitely my science up. What would be the best way for me to get my score up, because I’ve heard once you get about a 30 it’s hard to improve? I have the Kaplan book that I’m using right now, but I don’t know if it will help or not.
You can do it! I think that b/c of the discrepancy in your Reading and Science scores. When my daughter was doing her test prep, her lowest score was Science, but she a 35 or 36 on Reading. Her coach told her that the science was basically technical reading, but she lacked confidence. She primarily practiced Science and her score went up 8 points. She really built her speed, which I understand is a problem. If you don’t want to spend a ton of money, buy more ACT books with practice problems and look at Testive.com website – they have tons of FREE problems. Good luck.
I went from a 26 to 33 and there is only one way to achieve a higher score: practice, practice, and more practice. Take a practice test every other day when you have time and go over your mistakes in the days between. This is what I did and it worked really well. Now youre a senior so I imagine it will be hard finding time but just try to do as many practice tests and reviews as possible. Also read from perfect scorers their tips and tricks. Good luck :).
