I really interested in i banking/ consulting Im a finance major I go to a non-target(Texas AM) and have a 3.56. I am a sophmore but I can graduate a year early. IM not really involved in ECs though what are my chances to get in/ what do I need to do to get in?

Work a few years in the best job you can find, do extremely well and get a top MBA. Possible second strategy: marry the son/daughter of an MD at a major bank. j/k!

haha is big 4 acct for a couple years a good route too getting a good mba program

Not bad.....the thing is you want to be able to advance during the years you work, hopefully managing people and budgets. I don't know enough to know if that's possible in a large accounting firm.

Your chances are slim if you want to work in NY, but your chances are better for regional firms (Houston).

For non target schools, the best strategy is probably to network extensively with alumni in these fields. Otherwise, check out what firms recruit at your school and for what positions. Be sure to take advantage of that, if only to see where you stand. But, networking is likely your best bet.
