Looks like a great college/university. I'd love to go there.
Is it difficult to get into? How hard would I have to work to get admitted?
I'm in 10th grade and my midyear report was disastrous, to be frank:
4 A's 2 C's and 2 D's.
I can and will improve though, especially considering I'm doing well in all the subjects I like (and I bombed all the subjects I was forced to take, chem, for eg), and that I'm going to drop all the subjects I don't like for next year and take up two new ones that look really good (ecosystems, history).
It's also worth noting I'm doing the IB Diploma.
Anyway I'm really not a science person, but that's okay because the career I'm planning has nothing to do with science.
Also, I live in Switzerland and go to the school that pioneered the IB.

Now I'm off to finish that damn maths homework.

If those D
s are going to appear on your transcript, they will hurt you. Alot depends on your rank, as Georgetown stresses rank very much. I don
t want to sound very harsh, but it doesn
t really matter if you were forced to take certain subjects-colleges won
t care. they
ll have students who got A
s and B
s in every subject. The IB diploma will be good, just get good grades next year and you might be fine. Try to make up for those bad grades. And I don
t know how colleges will regard this, but ecosystems is not a very impressive class. I understand you dislike science, but try to take a
hard
science. Good luck.

Wake Forest would be good too, or maybe Cornell or University of Chicago. I need to work though. argh i need to stop slacking off..
thanks 4 the advice jap.
oh and ecosystems might not seem as impressive to those damn colleges, but it really is a challenging course in itself. there are no easy courses in the IB, really.
and frankly its better to take something i like and get good grades than something I hate (and be stuck with it for 2 years) and get bad ones. after all, its not the courses that matter, its the grades.
